Lovingly Restored Historic Toronto Home on Ontario St.

Welcome to one of Toronto’s oldest homes, a historic gem built circa 1850. This charming semi on an extra wide lot seamlessly blends old-world charm with modern comfort. The wall moldings, stained glass & exquisitely restored hardwood parquet floors are a period touch, nodding to its rich past.

With three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a fully finished basement, there’s plenty of space for comfortable living. The living room boasts a warm wood-burning fireplace that creates a cozy ambiance during winter months. The chef-worthy kitchen and bathrooms have been tastefully updated to combine classic and contemporary design elements for more modern aesthetics.

The primary bedroom features a sunken spa-like ensuite with a large walk-in closet overlooking the back garden. Also featured on the second floor is an office complete with built-in desk and bookshelves that can alternatively be converted back into a bedroom. For those seeking additional living space, the attic presents an incredible opportunity to renovate the 3rd story into a 520 sqft primary retreat (plans available).

Not only does this home have outstanding curb appeal with a generous front garden and covered porch, the landscaped back garden is truly a serene oasis. Surrounded by lush greenery, mature trees, and a bubbling water fountain, your bird-watching and serenity-seeking dreams have come true!

Situated on a quiet, tree-lined street in a friendly neighbourhood, 336 Ontario St holds historical significance and has been featured in the Cabbagetown Tour of Homes. Get ready to fall in love with its timeless charm and modern comforts.

In Our Client’s Words…

My favourite room other than my study is the kitchen; it’s always bright and cheerful, a great place for breakfast and lunch, and bird-watching. The back garden is lovely, mostly shades of green, with pops of colour depending on the season: forsythia in early spring, then lilacs and dogwood in May, and whatever annual plantings for additional colour. The bubbling rock invites all kinds of birds into the yard, and there are always naturally supplied seeds for them to eat. It’s a quiet house, with quiet neighbours up and down the street.

About the Neighbourhood | Cabbagetown

The ‘Old Cabbagetown’ shopping district on Parliament Street features many one-of-a-kind shops and a vast array of restaurants. The Carlton Street shopping district is similar in tone to Parliament Street, but on a much smaller scale. Cabbagetown also has small retail pockets on Gerrard Street, Sherbourne Street, and Wellesley Avenue.

Cabbagetown’s recreational centre is Riverdale Park. This park is the home of Riverdale Farm. Riverdale Farm is modelled after a late 19th century Victorian farm and includes horses, cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, geese and ducks. Riverdale farm is open seven days a week and admission is free. Riverdale Park also contains sports fields and serves as an access point to the Lower Don Recreation Trail.
